Our first place we visited was Times Square. It was awesome to be there.
The police presence was amazing. But I suppose when you have the largest police force in the nation you can have that. For the entire trip, Brian demanded that every police officer and police vehicle be photographed. Here he is posing with a New York Police Officer that rides a horse.
While in Times Square we visited the coolest toy store that I have ever been in. It was a 3 story ToysRus that was so big it had a Ferris wheel inside of it. The kids were disappointed we wouldn't let them ride.
And what should every larger than life toy store have? Larger than life displays
We visited the M&M store.
Next we went to the Hershey store
Natalie wanted to have a New York Hot Dog, so after we got some wrong directions, my wonderful IPhone saved the day and led us to Papaya Dog for original New York Hot Dogs.
We wanted to see the Empire State Building, but after we found out that it was $40 a person to go to the top, we changed our mind. The building was too big to fit into on picture. My software did not quite do the job on merging the pictures right, and I assure you that the building is now curved in spots. But for it being my 2nd ever panorama, I cant complain. I merged 3 pictures to make this.
After this we hoped into the car after waiting 30 minutes for them to retrieve it from wherever they put it. One of the things Natalie and I were interested in seeing was Trump Tower. Since we are avid Apprentice junkies, and see the sign whenever people get kicked off.
New we went by the Manhattan Temple. I got out while they circled the block because of traffic. It is very subdued outside, but pretty none the less. It would have been nice to go inside, but impossible considering our schedule.
The next stop on the list was the Statue of Liberty. Unfortunately traffic was a nightmare. We got stuck in terrible traffic jams, and ended up in New Jersey. We got lost there, and took some wrong turns to the point that I was ready to scream, and just bag it. But Dad insisted and eventually we got there.
Here is another one of my panorama pictures. I made this on using 4 pictures and merged them into one. This one turned out good (click on this one to see the full thing).
After that it was time to head home. I loathe the drive and I have only made it two different times. But this was the end result of our day.
You saw some cool things in New York! Did you go see Central Park? That was one of the places I wish it had been warm enough to go to. I agree with you on the drive. HATE it!!!
ReplyDeletep.s. good job putting pictures together again. do you have a program you do that with?
We bought a new camera to go, upgraded from 3 megapixels to 12 megapixels and it came with the software
