Christmas Day 2010

It feels pretty weird blogging about Christmas in 2011, but I need to keep my streak going.  So here are some pictures from our Christmas Morning.  Hopefully the pictures with a few captions will tell the story.

(Below: Here are the kids walking into the room for the first time Christmas morning)

(Below: One of the things on Kallie’s Christmas list was a “Sparkly Dress”)

(Below: One of the things on Brian’s list was another Playstation remote so that he could play with more cousins at a time.  He was very specific about it being blue.  BYU colors and Jazz colors.  Here is Brian raising his arms in triumph after opening his gift.)

(Below: Tangled was the hit movie of the Holidays with our kids, top on Kallie’s list was Rapunzel stuff.  Here is Kallie opening her Rapunzel doll.  Thank goodness Santa had the foresight to purchase this before the movie was released, because Mom and Dad checked and there were none to be found after the movie came out)

(Below: Top on Brian’s Christmas List, NCAA 2011 a football game for the Playstation, Brian fell in love with the game at “Buy More” <Really Best Buy> when he was able to specify the stadiums and teams that played.  Now that he has the game he plays in Mascots mode, which is pretty much Kosmo the Cougar against Mascots of other Universities.  The facial expressions say that he is happy!)

(Below: This is the meant to be present of the year.  After the movie came out Brian was going to buy this doll for Kallie.  We bypassed buying it when we found out we could get it online for a cheaper price with free shipping.  Well, all it took was a drive from Logan to Tremonton, and they were out of stock.  We started checking everywhere else but none were to be found.  We decided to pay for the shipping from another place online, only to find out they had marked their price up $15.00.  On the 23rd of Demember we had gone into Wal-Mart to pick up random stuff and the kids wanted to look at the toys.  I walked to the Rapunzel stuff and there was the Flynn Rider doll, not another doll (any character) in sight, just some books and overpriced plastic shoes.  I quickly snatched the doll off the shelf before Kallie saw and held it out to Natalie behind my back.  I heard her gasp and grab the doll.  We were able to get the doll.  Since a last minute Christmas gift was being bought, I stayed with the kids while Natalie hid the doll in the cart.  I bet there were at least 50 people who came over and picked though the Tangled stuff just while I was standing there.  I think it was meant to be.  Because, according to Kallie, “Rapunzel needs someone to kiss”)

(Below: Okay these two pictures go together, I tried to catch the present opening, but this little dude was extremely excited and turned to a blur.  This is what happens when Brian gets a Deron Williams Jersey for Christmas)

(Below: We wanted to get Kallie a game because she just isn’t into the Playstation like her brother is.  Natalie feels like the Wii gets left out, so we picked up Super Mario Brothers for the Wii for Kallie.  Lets just say the Wii isn’t left out any more, in fact, I think I hear the Playstation cry every now and then, because this game is so awesome.  The fun part is that our entire family can play the same Super Mario Bro’s level with each other at the same time.  We have had quite a few family game times since we got this game.  I highly recommend it.)

Well I think that about does it for Christmas 2010.  It was a wonderful day, and one that we felt very blessed for all that we are given.  The day was one where I sat back at the end of the day, and don’t think I would have changed anything at all.  This holiday season was very enjoyable because amidst all the excitement the kids would show Natalie and I that they did recognize what the true meaning of the season was.  The gifts and celebration were a time to enjoy family and friends, but they knew what the day was really about.  I remember at one point, one of the kids recommending we prepare a birthday cake for Jesus.  I can’t leave without sharing this last picture.  I think Kallie sums up the amazement of the day without having to say a word, here she is.
